Eat, Drink & Be Zizzi
For someone who dines out a great deal (cooking is not my forte), there is a surprising lack of foodie-related posts on my blog. But that all stops now, from this day forth I shall be sharing any and all gastronomic delights I happen to come across.
To that end, I’m delighted to announce that The ‘It’ Guide has teamed up with vibrant Italian restaurant Zizzi to offer readers the chance to enjoy two of their main courses for only £12.95!
As someone who regularly stuffs their face with both pizza and pasta (no-carb what?!), I felt the need to spend an evening at Zizzi’s to offer a culinary review to accompany this post… and to stuff my face with more pizza and pasta. Using that as an excuse, my husband and I headed off to our local Zizzi’s to sample their new menu, specifically the new Cichetti range (Italy’s answer to tapas). We ordered 6 standard dishes and an Italian bread board accompanied by a bottle of their Chianti Cecchi. Although I enjoyed all of the dishes, my favourites were the Arancini ai Funghi (mini risotto balls with mushrooms, mozzarella, thyme and rosemary) and the Gamberi (king prawns cooked in a fish and wine stock with a pinch of chilli).
For desert we sampled the Mela Croccante (Zizzi’s version of crumble, with apples marinated in amaretto liqueur, oven-baked and served with gelato) and the Chocolate Melt (rich chocolate dessert with a soft, melting centre served with gelato). Both delicious!
If you're feeling hungry now, fear not, you can enjoy a guilt-free trip to your local Zizzi’s by taking advantage of this great offer: Two Main Courses for £12.95
Now I’ve written this and edited the photos I’m feeling hungry again… I wonder if it’s considered bad form to take advantage of this offer myself… hmmm….
