My LFW SS12 Diary
I had huge difficulty in deciding where to begin this post. I may have only actually been in London for three days, but I feel as though we crammed enough activities in that I may be at risk of writing an essay! That concern aside, we had a fabulous fashion-orientated weekend and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you.
For company I had with me Lucy (my soon to be sister-in-law), Amanda aka The Online Stylist and Emily from Sugar & Spice. It was great to share the weekend with them and I hope that we can do it all again in February!
Lucy, and I arrived on Thursday to our orange-hued room at the EasyHotel in Victoria, where Amanda was also staying. Certainly nothing luxurious but it was a least big enough for our suitcases, which was better than I was expecting. I also felt on seeing the size of the room how lucky it was that Lucy and I get on as well as we do!
Our first day was easily the busiest out of the three, we started the day attending the Corrie Nielsen show at the Old Sorting Office, followed very quickly by the Caroline Charles show at the BFC Show space within Somerset House.

At midday we grabbed a taxi (our feet were already hurting halfway through day one!) and headed over to the Swarovski Crystalized Lounge on Great Marlborough Street for the IFB Crystals & Crumpets event. It was a great blogger-orientated event and lovely to meet Jennine from The Coveted and the mastermind behind Independent Fashion Bloggers.
In the evening we met up with some fellow bloggers for dinner at Automat; Lucy D from The Luxe Life, Olivia from My New Favourite Thing and Briony from A Girl, A Style. Emily’s sister Helena also came along and joined Lucy in giggling at our conversations about all things blogging and watching us take photos of one another… as you do.

Saturday was spent at Westfield Stratford City for The Look Show; I only found out the Thursday before that I’d won a pair of VIP tickets to The Look Show courtesy of New Look, which meant Lucy and I had to change our plans, but it was certainly worth it!
We had a wander around Westfield before heading to an early lunch, a good decision as it turned out; there was a queue of people waiting outside Strada when we left. After a cheeky cocktail we headed over to the pre-show reception and merrily guzzled champagne along with Marks & Spencer canapés!
The Look Show was great fun, a far more relaxed atmosphere than your traditional LFW shows, aided perhaps by the flowing champagne at the pre-show reception and the small bottle you were given to enjoy during the show.

When we arrived back from Westfield we met up with Amanda for tea and on the way back to our hotel we just happened to walk past Balls Brothers… and just happened to walk in… and JUST HAPPENED to order some champagne (yes, more champagne!).

On Sunday we met up again with Amanda, Emily and Helena and headed over to Selfridges for a Marie Claire event with Rachel Zoe. Stopping en route to have brunch and check out the Chanel make up stand, where a fair bit of money was spent… well you don’t get these opportunities every day…
The Rachel Zoe ‘How to get into Fashion’ event started later than expected and we were left to queue opposite the Michael Kors department, dangerous territory (for Amanda especially!). We also appeared on Selfridges Twitter feed via this photo:
You can spot Helena on the left, Amanda wearing her leather skirt and me in my grey cardigan.

This brings me nicely on to sharing some outfit snaps of me and Lucy from the weekend. Sadly we didn’t get a chance to take a photo of our Saturday outfits, but here’s a selection from the rest of the weekend.
If you’d like to see these outfits in more detail, we also filmed an outfit video:
It was a great weekend, spent with some lovely ladies, a truly wonderful experience! And in between all the champagne we did get to see some fashion as well...
