Maternity Style - 32 Weeks Pregnant
This week’s maternity outfit is a little different from previous ones… even though I might be eight months pregnant it’s still nice to indulge in a little bit of glamour every now and again, step in the wonderful girls from Tiffany Rose who sent me their Anastasia gown to style.
Tiffany Rose began in 2003 with a simple aim: to offer pregnant women the chance to wear exciting, elegant, beautiful and well-made designs for special occasions. Their designs are inspired by icons of the 50s and 60s, timeless classics that will never go out of style, with a touch of vintage or a modern twist. Evoking the sense of special and occasion, they bring to you unusual shades, tonal hues, sumptuous textures and unique prints - all in classic, flattering and wearable styles - and all Made in Britain.
Their Anastasia dress is available in two different styles; one is a long gown (which is the one I’m wearing in this post) and the other is a slightly shorter version that falls just below the knees. Although I was initially very indecisive choosing between the two different styles, I’m glad I eventually plumped for the longer of the two as it meant I could disguise the ever-growing cankles that have taken over the vicinity once occupied by my ankles.
The ability to hide swollen ankles and feet aside, the main thing I love about this dress is the gorgeous print. Never one to shy away from pretty floral prints, it was this along with the bold red sash that caught my attention when I first saw the dress on their website.
The slinky viscose jersey fabric drapes perfectly over my developing bump and although I was initially concerned that it might prove to be too warm to wear comfortably for a long period of time, the soft jersey lining worked brilliantly to keep me cool, even when taking these photos in the glaring midday sun.
I styled it with my Isabel Marant for H&M bracelet, a dress this pretty doesn't need much in the way of accessories, but a little bit of wrist candy never hurt anyone.
The clutch bag is from John Lewis and was sent to me as part of their Secret Santa competition that I took part in last year. Delicate evening clutches always tread a fine line, I want them to be small enough not to take focus from my outfit, but also large enough to carry more than just my lipstick. Thankfully this particular clutch meets both those criteria and there’s even a chain should you wish to carry it over your shoulder.
Finally, one of the few pairs of sandals that can still accommodate my pudgy piggies, my Jimmy Choo Treat wedges. Super soft and comfortable they feature a slight heel, but nothing too ambitious and the neutral shade works alongside the dress without distracting from it.
Although they were from the SS13 season and the exact style is no longer available, they do have a very similar glittery version in the SS14 collection... now that would be one way of making me feel much better about cankle-gate!
